Slumdog Millionaire

Ayush Mahesh Khedekar

Ayush Mahesh Khedekar

What a brilliant film this is. It deserves every award it wins. But, although Dev Patel does a good job in the main role, much praise has to be heaped upon the two little scallywags, Ayush Mahesh Khedekar (the young Jamal) and Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail (the young Salim).

I am not going into details about the plot, many others have done that already. All I want to say is that, without these two kids, there would be no film. I hope they get just recognition for their performances.

It seems that so often, youngsters are pulled into a film, then disappear into obscurity.

What happened to Ignatius Juma, the star of Kibera Kid?

I saw Slumdog Millionaire today. Boyle has really done a good job with this movie. While the movie deals with the gory details of the underbelly of Mumbai, it doesnt really leave you with a sick feeling. The story feels like a commentary and at the end you just feel good about the whole movie. Very well done I must say.

The music score by Rehman is amazing, the actors who played junior Jamal and Salim were the real stars. They were simply too good.

Azharuddin and Ayush did an awesome job.
I watch this film about 5 times already
just because of these two kids
lets not forget Rubina Ali, who made the film so emotional with her expressions.
    These kids are gifted

The three little kids were brilliant, but a lot of credit has to go to Danny Boyle for bring out their best.
I hope that they get an opportunity to raise themselves out of the slums and make a good life for themselves and their families.

Hey.. Ignatius Juma is in High School, in a boarding school in Western Kenya, now in Form 1. During the holidays, he still works with Hot Sun Foundation on various projects. One of those projects is here – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35zuMPPOor0

The media is to blame for not doing follow up stories on these children. their lives go on, whether or not the world is watching.

I am glad to hear that Ignatius Juma is doing well. It would appear that the young stars of Slumdog millionaire are also doing well, although the youngest “Salim Malik’s” father died recently.
