Non-Return Valve (see previous post)

I think I have cracked it. Below is a design for a non-return valve made out of an old plastic bottle, cut down to suit, and a ping-pong ball.

I think it will work.

The first drawing is when the gas is under pressure, pushing the water level down.

The second drawing is what happens when gas pressure is lower and the water level rises. Gas can still pass into the chamber once it has attained sufficient pressure, but water cannot pass back along the gas in pipe. will it work? is there a better design that costs as little?

I think not, but will continue to think on it.
